According to an article published on sudantribune.com, South Sudanese girls have the lowest rate of enrollment in secondary school of anywhere in the world. Contributing to this is the fact that over half are married before their 18th birthday. Girls interviewed for the article state that they wanted to continue their education in order to be able get good jobs, but were not permitted to do so, and instead were forced to marry.

At Africa ELA, it is our mission to keep girls in South Sudan in school so that they can improve their lives, reach their potential, and contribute to the overall betterment of society.
